The 3rd “Lemesos Commons” meeting was held on 5 November 2024, focusing on the reconfiguration of ‘Aktaia Odos’, part of the future green route, known as “Karnayio.” Once an industrial zone, Aktaia Odos is central to transitioning towards a more sustainable and green urban space.
During the meeting, participants used photos, articles, and maps to examine Aktaia Odos’ role in the Climate Contract and the Limassol City Centre Area Plan. Proposed ideas for the area included possible uses for the public space, innovative materials to reduce heat, shading through specialized paving, and policy recommendations to enhance the quality of life in the neighbourhood.
Lemesos Commons, involving participants of the LC3 co-workshops, elaborates on integrated solutions designed and their final proposals are included in the Climate Contract after a process with the Municipal Authority.
